It occurred to me recently that I have been in this business of photographing families for almost FIFTEEN years! The absolute coolest part of doing it for so long has been ALL the families I have had the chance to photography again and again as they grow and change, capturing and recording moments big and small through the years. For me, it is truly a dream job.
Photographing this family was an extra special treat as not only are they dear friends, they were also my very first client when I first started my business. We started with a newborn session when they welcomed their first child and have done countless shoots as their family has grown.
Over the summer, my family was lucky enough to spend a few fun-filled days on the East Coast with them at their little slice of paradise in New Hampshire. We planned to do a family photo session while I was there but had to keep pushing it back due to stormy weather. Thankfully, we got a lovely, sunny afternoon on the last day and so we headed down to their little pond with a blanket, a basket full of snacks and took my favorite photos of their family yet.
I can’t help thinking that since that first session, the photos have gotten better and better with each shoot we’ve done because as much as they have grown, I have grown and changed as an artist too.
